Leah’s Bio

About

Leah is a holistic pediatric occupational therapist living and working in Connecticut. Originally an “upstate” New York native, she has a love of learning, self-inquiry, connecting with others, and fresh air! Movement is a key ingredient for her mental health, and she loves to incorporate it in all of her work with children and families.

Journey

Leah earned her Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy from Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, CT. In her years as a pediatric therapist, she has worked with hundreds of children and families with varying needs and abilities to reach their goals related to fine motor skills, coordination, strength, visual perception, emotional and sensory regulation, and more.

Practice

The foundation of her practice is built on using play as a conduit for skill-building and for connecting with children. In addition to being a licensed occupational therapist, she is trained in the Hand in Hand Parenting approach, which is a connection-based caregiving philosophy. Coupling her knowledge as an occupational therapist with this training, she specializes in supporting parents and caregivers through education on behavior, development, and the science of emotional regulation.

Mission

Her ultimate goal is to help nurture skills, understanding, and the overall well-being of children, parents, and the entire caregiving team.

What brings her joy

Leah loves writing Haikus (on nature, caregiving, childhood, spirituality, growth, and play), as well as swimming, walking, family time, and being with children.
