About

Lea is an author, intuitive guide, reiki master, yoga, barre, fitness, and meditation instructor with more than 20 years’ experience teaching yoga and barre classes to people from age eight to 88. She lives in CT with her husband and two college-aged boys, who are her greatest teachers. Her book, Increase Your Peace from A to Z: Simple Steps to Find Calm Amid Chaos, is a mini-directory for stress relief in which she shares her daily practices to keep anxiety under control.

Journey

After tight hips from distance running urged her into a yoga studio in 1998, Lea came for pigeon pose but stayed for savasana. Before long she had gone through teacher training with Beth Shaw from YogaFit and began teaching in 2000. She taught at gyms and studios in Northern Virginia and had two babies, the aforementioned boys, then moved with her family to CT in 2005. While in CT, Lea taught yoga at many fitness centers and her home studio. She took workshops including 50 hours with Beryl Bender Birch at the Omega Institute. She wanted to learn more about the anatomy of yoga and completed a 200-hour teacher training with Andrew and Alexa Lane at Fairfield Yoga

From 2008 to 2011 the family took an Australian adventure, living outside Melbourne. She joined the Yoga Teachers Association of Australia and taught while “down under” too. While there she also studied meditation more deeply with Karina Godwin of Healing Souls in Sandringham, Victoria, Australia.

Always furthering her education, she found her reiki master Gigi Benanti of Angelic Healing Center and was attuned to reiki in 2012. Lea became a reiki master in 2014, and added reiki to her offerings. She has developed her own signature RAISE™ reiki method of emotional release which frees deeply held emotions from the body. She also works with clients’ angels and spirit guides during healing sessions, to assist and help clients realize they are never alone. Lea uses additional techniques such as chakra balancing, affirmations, forgiveness work, mirror work, EFT tapping, and angel cards in her classes and reiki sessions.

She is grateful to all of her teachers, and all of her clients as she believes that we all continuously learn from each other.

Lea begins each day with gratitude, then movement, affirmations, and meditation (MAM).

Inspiration

Favorite books include Louise Hay’s You Can Heal Your Life and The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz. 

In her free time, Lea enjoys exploring the beach, dancing, spending time with family and friends, reading, and writing.
