Maria’s Bio

About

Maria began her career in bodywork 11 years ago as a massage therapist. She is licensed in CT and NY; her mobile business model enables her to travel to client’s homes and offices for their treatment sessions. Maria offers a collection of treatment modalities including massage, craniosacral therapy, assisted stretching, breathwork, mindful movement, and mindful discussions on being human.

Beside her license in massage therapy, Maria has completed and incorporates Level 1 and 2 of Upledger Craniosacral Therapy into her practice.  She also holds a 200-hour yoga teacher training certification from Kripalu.  She’s studied in the Healing from the Core Program developed by Suzanne Scurlock.

Mission

Maria feels a great privilege in assisting people in breathing deeper, releasing unnecessary tension, and living with more joy and ease.

Her passion for running and exercise began in elementary school as she competed and earned ribbons in her school’s annual physical fitness competitions. She expanded from 50 meter dashes to cheerleading, dancing, long distance running, and a love for being active.

Her Story

Maria’s passion for being alive in her body grew further as she pursued an acting career and became fascinated with the unmistakable relationship between body and mind. The art and science of acting, long distance running, and all of life’s inevitable crossroads and challenges led her into a deep inquiry into what real physical and mental strength, inner peace, and success look and feel like.

A running injury led Maria to yoga and massage, and this is where she discovered how releasing built-up physical tension almost always caused a similar letting go of persistent, exhausting mental tension. What surfaced was more joy and ease. Her studies in anatomy, physiology, and kinesiology are complimented with a deep dive into spirituality and paying close attention to lessons available in day-to-day living and nature.

Practice

Join Maria on an embodiment journey and learn how to skillfully be more here, where life is actually occurring, rather than where you were or where you plan to go. Feel the shift in your body and mind as you experience yourself moving and breathing mindfully, taking in nourishing dharma-style talks, practicing fun sensory exercises to experience moments more fully, and taking to integrate.

Each one-hour class is designed with a theme for meeting yourself in this moment.  Practicing presence builds the capacity to show up more available… to listen, to connect, and to live with more joy and authenticity.

Inspiration

Her favorite teachers in the world of digital, audible, and book learning include Dr. Wayne Dyer, Caroline Myss, Gabby Bernstein, and Brene Brown.
