About

Mary Dobson's passion for mental health began with the CT Women's Health Project at Yale University, where she authored work on pregnancy, attachment, and young adults. After receiving her masters in Marriage and Family Therapy from Fairfield University (Psi Chi, Phi Betta Kappa), she went on to become among the first nationally awarded with post-graduate education certification in the provision of family-focused school-based mental health intervention services, Having dedicated two decades to eating disorder recovery, Mary is among select few practitioners honored with certification as an eating disordered specialist through the International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals, and served as the founding CT Chapter President.

Ms. Dobson draws from a leadership background in behavioral health startups, corporate org. psychology, and program performance improvement, having directed/developed operations for national treatment programs. Her leadership/clinical approach draws from attachment theory, cognitive behavioral, narrative, psychoanalytic, and family systems. Ms. Dobson contributes to media and academic publishings, facilitates assemblies, retreats, webinars, and presents to communities, corporations, schools and organizations on industrial/org psychology, mental health, relationships, performance, divorce, bullying, anxiety, self-esteem, eating disorders, parenting, school avoidance, educational disabilities.

Mary helps systems finesse communication, and prioritize sound physical and mental health. In addition to overseeing LIFT, Mary Dobson maintains a small but diverse caseload, working with couples, executives/burnout, industrial/org psychology coaching, consulting, family reunification, women’s issues, parenting. Ms Dobson is dedicated to program development, and creating spaces with the highest quality psychiatric, dietary, behavioral health, pharmacological and medical interventions are deliverable to children, teens and adults.
